Take a Closer Look at the 2015 BMW M4 Coupe
Several automotive writers of prominent websites have labeled the 2015 BMW M4 Coupe as a beautifully-styled car. According to Bimmerfest’s most credible source, the vehicle is set to be available to the public by the middle of the year, but for the time being that information is inconclusive. Nonetheless, we can confirm that customers will definitely see enhancements in the engine, body and driveline.
Dive into our critical review of the 2015 BMW M4:
According to the head of the R & D Department of the M Subsidiary line, Albert Biermann, the powertrain installed in this car is totally new. But it can be argued that it resembles the 335i engine unit. This new in-line six’s 2979cc-size and s55 designation is uniquely constructed with the right amount of stiffness to guarantee permanence.
Its twin single-scroll turbochargers are stacked neatly beside the canted block to produce 18.1 psi of boost through a large liquid-to-air intercooler. Its 3.0-liter six pumps out 430 horsepower at 7000 rpm and 406 pound-feet of torque.
Thanks to the carbon-fiber used to build the body of this new car, it is much lighter all around which automatically has a ripple effect on the performance and speed of the car.
Among the parts that benefit from this sturdy car-making material are the roof and inner panels, the seat structures and the long stretch of boomerang tying the suspension. Yes, the new M4 Coupe borrows similar design cues to the new M3 such as the up-turned nostrils, broader haunches and wind-stretched housings.
Similar to other M cars, drivers will choose between a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. However, drivers will recognize enhanced performance with either option. It should be noted that the manual transmission is much lighter and more compact.
But the dual-clutch transmission has taller gearing so drivers can make adequate use of the added torque provided by the engine. There is also a mode selector that offers six different gear change schedules and shift speeds. All in all, the 2015 BMW M4 Coupe is a decent upgrade from its predecessor, but BMW looks to make further improvements on the M5 and M6 as well.
