Naperville Hosts 12th Annual Wine Festival
Naperville is a lively suburban town located about a half hour west of Chicago. It is a town that prides itself on the diversity of its businesses, close community relations, and fine dining. Naperville has been named one of “America’s Best Places to Live” and is well-known for its world-class parks, popular downtown, highly acclaimed public library, and distinguished school districts.
Every year, this city of 145,000, hosts the annual Naperville Wine Festival and every year Bill Jacobs BMW looks forward to the celebration. The festival runs Friday, August 22nd and Saturday August 23rd. Friday it is open from 4pm to 10pm and Saturday it is open from 3pm to 9pm.
Since 2002, the festival has offered visitors the chance to taste and judge more than 300 different types of wines, sample items from the Belgian Beer Cafe, and taste signature dishes prepared onsite by local restaurants.
Many festival-goers will find that the ambiance at the Naperville Wine Festival is one that reflects the mood of the town itself – a welcoming spirit of beauty and relaxation. If you’re interested in expanding your knowledge of fine wines while enjoying a fun and bustling summer festival, we encourage you to check it out!
This year, InPlay Events has teamed up with a number of sponsors, including Calamos Investments and Celebrity Cruises for the city’s 12th annual wine fest – in the beautiful outdoor setting of CityGate Center.
According to event organizer, Scott Janess, Naperville’s Wine Festival offers the largest variety of wines of any other festival in the area – and for good reason. “Everyone has unique tastes and preferences, and every festival attendee will be able to sample and discover their new favorite wine.”
In its infant stages, Naperville’s wine gala drew close to 4,000 people and with little more than 120 varieties of wine live music and a few beer brands, the town knew it would be a big success.
This year, crowds of more than 8,000 people are expected to gather in the small Illinois town on August 22 and 23, with wine lovers traveling from all over in hopes to learn the art of pairing wines with food and chat one on one with connoisseurs.
Great wine isn’t complete without great entertainment.
The 2013 roster of events featured music by the Lloyd Dobler Effect – a blend of Modern Rock with Latin Rhythms and Chicago – based rock band Underwater People.
The Belgium Beer Cafe has been a festival favorite in the years past, as guests are invited sample various brands from Stella Artois to Leffe and Hoegaarden, while learning about the history of Belgian beer.
This year, the Naperville Wine Festival also highlights its hands-on wine seminars and expert cooking demonstrations.
Part of the proceeds from the event will go to help support the Naperville Area Humane Society in order to assist in raising funds and increase awareness.
