In Da’ Club
You have to admit, being a BMW owner places you in a select group and no better way to highlight your BMW ownership than gathering with other BMW owners. And if you are really enthusiastic about BMW cars you might consider joining a club that is made up of other BMW owners and aficionados.
The two BMW automobile clubs and two BMW motorcycle clubs, officially recognized in the United States, boasts a membership number of about 125,000 which nets out at 40% of the worldwide BMW club membership. This certainly highlights the love of the BMW in our country, huh?
The two clubs devoted to the company’s automobiles are The BMW Car Club of America and the BMW Vintage and Classic Car Club of America and they are both notorious for hosting events and bringing BMW lovers together, all in the effort to continue to get the word out about the vehicle.
The BMW Car Club of America was founded in the city of Boston in 1969 and throughout the country there are 67 chapters. As a matter of fact, there is one in the Chicago area, based out of Glenview, called BMW Car Club of America Windy City and it is one of the largest in the nation.
The BMW Vintage and Classic Car Club of America has a mission statement specific to the preservation and promotion of vintage BMW vehicles and derivatives of the vintage cars, such as Frazer-Nash’s, Veritas, and AC-Bristols, to name a few. If the automobile was powered at one time by a BMW engine, the club will then give it recognition.
The BMW Vintage Classic Car Club website does tout an Illinois chapter and although the link to their site is inoperable we are sure there is one that exists and if you reach out to the good people of BMW Car Club of America Windy City, they can point you in the direction of fellow-aficionados for the vintage era.
And of course, feel free to come see us here at Bill Jacobs BMW and we can certainly help you not only with your love of BMW’s but we can get you together with others who share that same love.
