Icy roads prove no match for a BMW works rally car
In this year’s Historic Ice Trophy, more than 20 teams raced over an ice-covered track for six hours to showcase the capabilities of their classic and recent classic cars. And unsurprisingly, a 1969 BMW works rally car nearly took home the top prize. Coming in second, drivers Johnny Cecotto Senior, a multiple motorcycle world champion and BMW touring car champion, and his son, successful GP2 driver Johnny Cecotto Junior, proved to spectators that poor driving conditions are no match for a classic BMW.
