Building Out in Brazil
In the first nine months of this year the sales numbers for BMW took a dive in the country of Brazil to the tune of 29% versus last year. Opportunity was ripe for the company to scale back on resources in this part of the world and as is the case with companies and businesses who are strong on individualism and thinking outside of the box, BMW has decided to do the opposite.
Latest reports are referring to a $395 million investment in the country of Brazil and creating a plant which will produce 5 BMW makes, including the MINI Cooper. Even with the decline in BMW sales, specifically, there is enough demand in Latin countries for the automobile that the chance of building production lines, in one of the largest Latin economies (Brazil), is worth taking.
