BMW’s Greenville Plant Opens Onsite Healthcare Facility
BMW of North America opened a new $5 million dollar onsite healthcare facility at it’s Greenville, SC plant. The medical facility provides low cost primary care, vision and dental services, laboratory and X-ray, as well as physical therapy and other health care options to current and retired employees and their families.
The 25,000 square foot facility is meant to offer BMW’s 7,000 employees the convenience of onsite care at a reasonable price, said company president Josef Kerscher, who called it another step in shaping the future and keeping the company competitive.
“Health is a basic human need … and part of a happy and fulfilling life,” BMW Group board member Frank-Peter Arndt said at a ceremony to unveil the center.
“And the company’s responsibilities are not limited to running a business and securing jobs, but also include a social commitment,” he said. “The new center is corporate citizenship in practice.”
