BMW Plans to Expand BMW i3 Production
The German-based automotive company has already received a gross number of reservations for its new electric cars, i3 sedan and the range-extender version. The more than 8,000 reservations follow its launch in the European market. This is good news for BMW as it pilots the development of battery-powered vehicles. The company also indicated that the new BMW i3 will be launched in the United States. But with the rising number of reservations for a copy of this pioneering electric car, the company intends to expand production.
BMW certainly makes history with i3 sedan since this is the first time the brand experience such a heavy demand for a particular model across markets. Beyond the rising demand for the i3 sedan, car shoppers are looking for safer an environmentally-friendly vehicles. The direction of all drivers is towards vehicles with improved fuel economy, engine performance and driving stability.
The development of electric cars has been in the BMW pipeline of innovative ideas for years so upsurge in the requests for these BMW-made products is truly an accomplishment for the company. Furthermore, BMW is regarded as a brand for the big-spenders of the world. However, the distribution of 8,000 reservations sees people from other social statuses budgeting for the purchase of one of these electric vehicles. The reality is that BMW provides automotive solutions. Sales in the European market will start this weekend but the US market will have to wait until March 2014. BMW looks to produce more than 30,000 units yearly for worldwide output.
