2014 BMW X4 Introduced Across the Globe
In late April of 2013, at the Shanghai Motor Show, BMW plans to unveil its newest model, the X4 sports activity coupe. It’s been a long wait since BMW first made mention of the car in January 2012. It has also been an expensive journey with a $900 million expansion of the BMW Manufacturing Company in Greer, South Carolina which is also the assembly plant for the larger X6 sports activity coupe and the X3 and X5 sports activity vehicles.
BMW has been reported as saying, that the X4 “opens a window into the further expansion of the BMX X family.” This is a possible hint of more exciting things in the works.
The company also released numerous photographs of the new model, but there is no word yet when the vehicle will go into production and hit dealer showrooms.
Given the rapidly growing marketplace in China, it makes sense to industry experts for the X4 to be debuted there. In the first three months of this year, China has had a sizable difference in vehicles sold there as opposed to the United States, roughly 7,000 more.
Automakers view China as a market with gigantic potential for increased sales and most are investing their time, money and effort there. BMW said its sales in China increased 40.4 percent in 2012 to 326,444 units sold and has already been manufacturing 3 Series and 5 Series models in Shenyang since 2003. BMW opened a factory in Tiexi in 2012 to produce the smallest sports activity vehicle, the X1.
