Bill Jacobs BMW Part of Naperville’s Century Walk
If you ever have the opportunity to visit the town of Naperville, Illinois you immediately get the feel of a close-knit community. It has a population of 141,000 and, as recently as 2006, was voted by Money magazine as the second best place to live in the United States. This town is able to retain a high quality of life while still being the 5th largest city in the state of Illinois.
When you do come to Naperville make a point to pay attention, as you travel down Main Street, and in between Talbots department store and The Gap you will see a large mural on the exterior wall that stretches for 125 feet. This is a project the city conceived, and has been moving forward, since 1998 and its purpose is to honor the history of Naperville as well as highlight current businesses and individuals who are at the core of its modern-day progress.
There are three area artists who are collaborating on this project which is named The Century Walk. The price of having you and/or a loved one as part of the wall is $1000.00 and the proceeds go directly to the non-for-profit Century Walk organization.
Dodie Mondero is the lead artist of the three-person team and expounds on the interactiveness of the community the mural brings, “It’s a very unique project. It’s probably the best we have ever done. The fact that people can see the artists painting is fascinating.”
All of us at Bill Jacobs BMW are extremely proud of our city and were more than ready to have our place of business depicted in the mural. When you get a chance, come to Naperville and take in everything that is going on in our hometown and, for sure, come by and see us and we can tell you more about this city we love.
