It is quite unfortunate that Americans won’t enjoy the power and performance of the latest X5 model by the leading luxury car company in the world. BMW has confirmed that the 2014 BMW X5 M50d will be available in showrooms across the world except the United States. Sadly, if Americans want to experience this fabulous vehicle then they would probably need to plan an overseas weekend getaway.
However, this new model is fitted with the great straight-six diesel engine with three turbochargers and common rail direct fuel injections. This blast of power is coming at BMW fans by the end of the year. The X5 M50d is actually a member of the M Performance line therefore there are some key features that contribute to its husky, attractive and heroic display of strength. This new model has an Adaptive M suspension including Dynamic Damper Control and air suspension at the rear axle, 19- inch M light alloy wheels and a neat aero kit.
Stepping into the driver’s seat of the 2014 BMW X5 M50D will give you a tremendous sporty feel since the steering wheel has a more robust appearance and there are cool turbocharger buttons.
Although the US market will never really know what it feels like to drive this high performance SUV, there are other new X5 models that are being ushered to local showrooms. The xDrive 35i and xDrive50i are ready for the US and early next year the diesel-powered xDrive35d will be available. The prices are very reasonable starting at $56,025.
