The 2 Series Coupe And BMW i8 Make 2015 All-Star List
Automobile Magazine just released it’s 2015 All-Star list and we are excited to announce that the BMW 2 Series Coupe and the BMW i8 both made the cut! Unlike some other car magazines, Automobile does not establish categories or price caps for the cars it considers for its annual All-Stars list.
Automobile Magazine states “We drive them. We argue about them. We choose them. Done.”
Both the BMW i8 and the 2 Series Coupe made their debut this year and although you can find the 2 Series available at all U.S dealerships, the BMW i8 is almost non-existent.
Here is a excerpt from Automobile Magazine about the 2 series coupe:
“The 2 Series is BMW’s most intimate car, at least distantly related to the 2002 model, and it’s diminutive by today’s supersized standards. The 3.0-liter turbo is one of the sweetest engines made today, partly because it’s potent but not pretentious, and intensely responsive. Like the entire car, it’s not out to make a big statement. This car is for the true Bimmer believers or, better yet, the car to create a new crop of believers.”
And the i8 review:
“From startup to showroom, so much could have gone wrong with the BMW i8. Its concept-car form could have been watered down, its plug-in powertrain neutered. The BMW might have been a Fisker Karma redux, a pretty shape that hid a tangle of compromises and poorly integrated hybrid technology. BMW might even have said “nicht” and canceled the project entirely.”
